This week's pick is "Cézanne's Objects," a new photo book by Joel Meyerowitz, a master of American photography.

■``Cézanne's Objects'' by Joel Meyerowitz

This is a new photo book by Joel Meyerowitz, a master of American photography whose works have been praised for their ``luminous'' color landscape photography, which he has been working on in recent years, focusing on painters' studios. Following on from the critically acclaimed 2015 series "Morandi's Objects," which featured still lifes in the studio of Italian painter Giorgio Morandi, this latest series features a series of photographs taken in Paul Cézanne's studio in Aix-en-Provence. The dark gray walls that define Cézanne's studio, along with small statues, skulls, glass bottles, jugs, and other belongings that frequently appear in the artist's paintings... Meyerowitz painstakingly photographs each of the various objects left behind by Cézanne against the gray walls, recreating the images that would have appeared through the late artist's eyes and conveying his artistic perspective.
