Fendi collaborates with decorative art designer Maria Pergay

Jun 27, 2013

FENDI has announced a collaboration with internationally acclaimed furniture designer Maria Pergay.
Pergay has designed furniture for the brand's new flagship store, scheduled to open in July on Paris' Avenue Montaigne. Based on the theme of "metamorphosis," also featured in the brand's AW13-14 collection, Pergay has created pieces that combine her own creativity with the world of FENDI.
The pieces will also be featured as part of a special limited edition series for FENDI's interior collection, "FENDI Casa Icons," at AD Interior 2013, an interior exhibition organized by lifestyle magazine AD MAGAZINE and of which FENDI is an official partner. The exhibition will run from September 7th to 22nd at the Enclos des Bernardines in Paris.
Pergay was born in Moldavia, Russia, in 1930. He lived in Paris from the age of seven, and ten years later began his career under the sculptor Ossip Zadkine. In 1968, he released a collection of stainless steel furniture, which was so highly praised by Pierre Cardin that he bought the entire collection, causing a stir. He is known as a furniture designer who represents the decorative arts that swept Paris in the 1970s, and he remains active at the forefront of the field today.
