Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion will open on September 7th as the first hotel of the new hotel brand "The Celestine Hotels," which aims to be a "destination hotel" where the stay itself is the purpose of the trip. Located in a quiet area facing Yasaka Street in Gion, the hotel offers a new style of Kyoto travel, with interior design by SIMPLICITY, hospitable service, and meals prepared by the famous tempura restaurant Yasaka Endo... Let's take a closer look at the details.
Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion is a five-story building with one basement floor and one above ground, with the lobby located in the basement, down a stairwell from the entrance, making it a rather unusual structure. This is because in ancient times, this area was a lake surrounded by mountains, and the design was based on the image of the bottom of a lake. The basement is home to Yasaka Endo THE CELESTINE KYOTO GION, a restaurant based on the stage and tea ceremony motifs of the Gion geisha district, as well as BAR Omi Sakae, which operates as a guest lounge during the day and as a bar at night, and a spa (large public bath), and it can be said that this space most strongly reflects the fantastical atmosphere of the entire hotel.

The Celestine Deluxe Yasaka is themed around a "TEA ROOM," where staff will serve you tea from the tea specialty shop "Ippodo Tea Shop" after check-in, while the largest room, the "Celestine Deluxe Higashiyama," offers attentive hospitality, including the opportunity to write a letter using the calligraphy brush provided on the desk and a postcard made from Japanese paper while admiring the Higashiyama landscape. All rooms are also equipped with Kiyomizu-yaki tea utensils, as well as original hotel wrapping cloths that guests can take home, amenities from the French tea ceremony-themed brand "THEMAE," and flower vases arranged to match the room's decor. The hotel's attention to detail, with a "Kyoto feel," is sure to please even travelers from overseas.
