Singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira was born on July 8, 1992, in California, USA. Her mother was a hairstylist and had connections with many big-name stars. As a child, she performed in front of Michael Jackson. She began publishing her own songs on MySpace when she was in junior high school, and began her musical career in earnest in 2010. Her 2011 single "Sex Rules" was featured in a Calvin Klein campaign, directed and photographed by Steven Meisel. This marked her arrival in the fashion world. In 2013, she was a muse for Forever 21, a model for Marc Jacobs at New York Fashion Week, and a model for Benetton's fall/winter campaign. Last September, she was arrested along with her boyfriend, Zachary Cole Smith, lead singer of the New York band DIIV, on charges of drug possession and theft.
