
Actress Rena Nounen was born on July 13, 1993, in Hyogo Prefecture.
In 2006, she won the grand prize at the 10th Nicola Model Audition. She subsequently served as a regular model for the fashion magazine Nicola until 2010. In 2012, she appeared as a commercial character for Calpis Water, garnering attention for her fresh smile.
In 2010, she began her acting career with a role in the film "Confessions," starring Takako Matsu. She has also appeared in numerous television dramas, including "High School Restaurant" and "Locked Room." In 2013, she played her first leading role as Aki Amano in the NHK morning drama "Amachan." The series quickly became a hit across Japan, and her use of the Iwate dialect "jejejeje" in the film won the Japan Buzzword Award.
Most recently, she played the heroine Kazuki Miyaichi in the film "Hot Road," scheduled for release in summer 2014. She is active in many fields, including serving as a personality on TOKYO FM's radio program "SCHOOL OF LOCK! 'GIRLS LOCK!'"
