The Daikanyama Photo Fair returns this year, bringing together leading galleries, bookstores, and publishers in the fields of fine art photography and art photobooks to present a selection of art photography works. From its inaugural "Hillside Terrace Fair," the fair has been renamed "Daikanyama Photo Fair" and expanded in scale. In addition to viewing and purchasing works, the fair offers a comprehensive public program, including interactive workshops, kids' workshops, screenings, artist talks, and book signings. Photographers Hiroshi Nomura and Herbie Yamaguchi will be in charge of the kids' workshops for elementary school children. Hiroshi Nomura's workshop involves children strolling around Daikanyama, sticking magical eyeball stickers everywhere and taking Polaroid photos. Meanwhile, Herbie Yamaguchi, who has photographed Daikanyama for many years, will be offering a hands-on photography experience, teaching children the joy of interacting with people through photography and the beauty of everyday life. In addition, the workshop "Storing Your Collection and Enjoying Your Frames" will teach you tips for maximizing your enjoyment of your photographs, from preserving your precious photos to coordinating frames and displaying them. Also, photographer Eikoh Hosoe and Professor Hiroaki Yoshino of the Tokyo Polytechnic University Faculty of Art will hold a talk entitled "Tokyo Polytechnic University Shadai Gallery 40th Anniversary Talk: About the Shadai Gallery and Original Print Collections in Japan," a must-see for art photography fans. This fair will feature works from the "Frida by Ishiuchi" series, a collection of photographs of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo's belongings by photographer Miyako Ishiuchi, known for being the first female photographer from Japan to be selected for the Venice Biennale. Images from her work will appear in various visual presentations related to the fair. Experience a new world of art photography and participate in this program to hone your sensibilities.
