■ "Leaves: A Collection of Works by Fumio Tachibana"
This is the first collection of works by Fumio Tachibana, an artist and graphic designer who is highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad for his work using letters, paper, and books as materials and themes.
This book looks back on his diverse creative activities and unique methods, spanning installation, photography, and editing, from his 1995 solo exhibition "MADE IN U.S.A." to the quarterly magazine "Kyutai," which he edits himself.
The author, who creates his works using various pieces of paper that he has collected himself, once wrote in a magazine article, "Papers on the street call out to me. 'Would you pick them up for me?'" The author's happy encounter with the paper is deeply connected to the title "Leaves," which evokes the image of a single leaf.
