We've recently added a vicuña and cashmere blend and cashmere fabric to our "Made to Order" service, available exclusively in Japan. Known as the "fiber of the gods," vicuña is considered the finest of all fabrics, and its rarity means that only a limited number of brands can carry it. Vicuña's distinctive characteristic is its fine fibers. Its diameter (thinness) is even thinner than cashmere or human hair, making it one of the thinnest fibers of any animal. It is said that the finer the hair used in fabric, the softer and more melting it becomes, and in that respect, vicuña is a precious material that can produce a softer feel than any other material. In addition to its soft feel, it also has excellent heat retention, which is why it is also known as the "fiber of the gods."
Three new fabric variations have been added to the made-to-order collection: a vicuña, cashmere, and silk double-face fabric, a vicuña and cashmere blend (20% vicuña, 80% cashmere), and a cashmere fabric (100% cashmere). After selecting your preferred fabric from a selection of luxuriously soft swatches (one double-face fabric, five vicuña and cashmere fabrics, and three cashmere fabrics), you can customize the buttonholes, buttons, lining, and under-collar design to your liking. Two of Giorgio Armani's most popular jacket models are available for custom orders in these luxurious fabrics. One model features a natural shoulder and a moderately slim line, while the other has a more relaxed feel, making it a favorite model that feels almost like a cardigan.
