3331 Arts Chiyoda, an art center located in Sotokanda, Tokyo, will host the participatory art event, "3331 Chiyoda Arts Festival 2014," from August 23rd to September 7th. This year marks the fourth annual Chiyoda Arts Festival, a participatory arts festival featuring a variety of genres, including fine arts, crafts, photography, and video. Leading creators have served as advisors from the planning stage, presenting a diverse range of exhibits in six categories. A critique of the exhibited works will also be held. The "3331 Independent" exhibition category, "An Exhibition Open to Everyone, Connecting to the World," will display approximately 200 artworks in the main gallery. The works, submitted through an unjudged, genre-less independent format, will energize the massive 500-square-meter main gallery. Public critiques with invited guests are also scheduled for the 23rd and 24th. The market section, "Chiyoda Beer Festival x San-San-San Market," will host a bazaar-style rooftop stall in the "Delicious Collaboration! Expanding Encounters Market." A variety of items will be sold, including fresh vegetables, homemade bread, select miscellaneous goods, and art goods. The "Chiyoda Beer Festival," where you can also enjoy craft beer, will also be held from the 29th to the 31st. The video section, "10 min.motion," will host a "10-Minute Video Exhibition: Opening the Door to the World in 10 Minutes," inviting short films limited to 10 minutes in length. Twenty of these will be selected by a panel of judges for screening. Since there are no restrictions on genre, submissions are welcome, with stories ranging from the comical to the aesthetic. The performance section, "Odorinoba," will host a "Genre-Breaking Physical Live" on the 6th, featuring approximately 20 participating artists who will deliver a powerful performance. A wide variety of dance styles, from contemporary to traditional, will be on display.

The music division's "LIFE LIKE LIVE" event on the 7th will feature a "Live Experience of Living Music," featuring a live critique by around 20 participants, ranging from jazz pianists to khoomei singers. Guest performances will also include Hiroshi Sakagami, Tenniscoats, and Tetsuya Umeda.

The interaction division's "3331α Art Hack Day 2014," making its first appearance this year, will host "Technology x Artistic Expression! Three Densely Packed Days!", Japan's first hackathon event specializing in art. 50 artists and engineers will collaborate to create new works over the course of three days. The event will take place on the 23rd and from the 6th to the 7th.

Other events planned for the event include "Chiyoda Scholarship Students @ 3331" and "Crossing 3331! Quiz Rally."
