Oriza Louis Legrand, a French perfumery house established in the time of Louis XV, will launch a new fragrance at the Isetan Shinjuku store on February 15th. Villa Limpia Eau de Parfum (100ml, ¥16,500) was created as a homage to the French Riviera, a scenic resort area in the south of France. A marine floral scent, it takes a different approach from the previous lineup of vintage perfume reproductions. It is inspired by the beach houses where Oriza's perfumers created perfumes during Paris's prosperous Belle Époque. The top notes are borne on the sea breeze by pine, mimosa, and maritime, followed by a heart of sparkling white sea salt and a finish of sun-kissed immortelle blossoming with the scent of a sandy beach. A humid, woody breeze lingers, signaling the beginning of summer. The classical packaging, which evokes a nostalgic nostalgia for the Belle Époque era, is based on a previously uncommercialized piece from the maison's archives, created in 1900. The product will be available in stores nationwide from March 15th, following an advance sale at Isetan Shinjuku from February 15th.
