An exhibition of sculptor Kohei Nawa's studio, SANDWICH, is currently being held at EYE OF GYRE, an art space within GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo. The exhibition runs until February 16, 2014. SANDWICH is located in Fushimi, Kyoto. This renovated sandwich factory is home to approximately 40 staff members, including director Nawa, who work in the ART, PRODUCTION, ARCHITECTURE, GRAPHIC, and OFFICE departments. They are involved in a wide range of projects, including corporate collaborations, product development, and renovations. The exhibition features video works documenting the production process of works such as "Biota (Fauna/Flora)," presented at the Setouchi Triennale in 2013, and "Foam," presented at the Aichi Triennale. It also features video archives of projects both in Japan and abroad, including the huge outdoor sculpture "Manifold," which was installed in Cheonan, South Korea, and became a hot topic. The book "KOHEI NAWA | SANDWICH," which analyzes their activities using the keywords "strategy," "organization," and "method," will also be on sale.

Kohei Nawa is a sculptor born in 1975 and an associate professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design. He continues his creative work based on his unique concept of "PixCell = Pixel + Cell." He launched "SANDWICH" in 2009 and has since developed projects such as the au design project "iida," music videos and stage sets for musicians, and a collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS. In 2011, he held a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and in 2013 he participated in the Setouchi Triennale and Aichi Triennale.
