Have you heard of the movie "Hafu"?
As many of you may already know, the expression "Hafu" comes from the English word "half," which means half, and in Japan refers to someone born to half Japanese and half foreign parents. So, I'm half German and half Japanese.
Being half in Japan can have many benefits, but it can also be difficult. In my experience, people around me often thought I was different and always treated me differently. They never treated me meanly; in fact, they often treated me with kindness. Personally, I just wanted to be like everyone else. Even though we may look a little different, we're the same on the inside, and I often felt lonely when I was a child. But now, I'm very proud to be half Japanese. :)
I haven't seen the movie "Hafu" yet, but it's currently showing in Berlin and Tokyo. I'm going to Berlin next week, and I definitely want to see it then!
