The Isetan Mitsukoshi Online Store will release a digital version of "EPOCH," a fashion magazine by Isetan Men's luxury brands, from September 8th.

The world is changing at a dizzying pace every day. We are encountering a "now" that was unimaginable just a few years ago, and heading towards a new era that we have yet to see. We may sometimes feel anxious and hesitant to change and overturn the common sense and values that we have taken for granted. But even so, we must not remain stuck in the "now," but continue to move forward, blazing a trail toward a brighter future. The latest issue of "EPOCH" features fashion from 24 luxury maison brands that will color the new season, along with a powerful message that "we will move forward, crossing various barriers, toward a new era."

The theme of EPOCH vol. 26 is “BEYOND”.

EPOCH Vol. 26 Theme Visual
The theme of this issue is "BEYOND."
BEYOND means "to go beyond" or "beyond."

In a world that changes every day, what has opened up a new era? Perhaps it is the "strength" that is unafraid of change, always looking forward no matter how difficult the situation, and transcending all barriers such as national borders, gender differences, race, generation, ideology, and tradition. And perhaps that strength becomes even greater when we embrace and respect the culture, technology, and human connections that our predecessors have built up over a long history. Human history has opened up new eras not only with strength, but also with a warm, embracing kindness, like a light that illuminates the darkness. Perhaps this journey is also shared by the journey that fashion and luxury fashion houses have taken.

The theme of EPOCH vol. 26, "BEYOND," embodies the message, "We want to embrace fashion, find the courage to forge ahead without fear of change, and take a powerful leap forward into a new era."

Collaboration with suzusan, a German-based brand that continues to communicate with the world

In this issue, we collaborate with suzusan, a fashion and lifestyle brand that was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, and is pioneering a new era while making use of the delicate Japanese handiwork of Arimatsu Narumi Shibori, a traditional technique that has been passed down in Arimatsu, Nagoya for over 400 years.
suzusan has continued to innovate while paying homage to Japan's traditions and culture, built up over a long history. Its products are currently available in select shops in over 23 countries and cities around the world, including Paris and Milan. Hiroyuki Murase, creative director of suzusan, could be said to embody this issue's theme, "BEYOND."

suzusan's lamps and fabrics, featured throughout the magazine, create a worldview that is both cutting-edge and modern, yet somehow nostalgic and warm. You'll sense the strength to pioneer a new era and respect for Japanese handcrafts.
In this issue of EPOCH Vol. 26, we connected Murase, who continues to create in Germany, remotely between Germany and Japan to hear his valuable insights about the future he is aiming for.

In addition, in September 2021, suzusan will hold a limited-time pop-up with the theme of "BEYOND" at two locations in the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building and Men's Building. This will be a space where you can enjoy suzusan's latest creations, including products exclusive to Isetan Shinjuku.
