Asami Usuda takes on the role of Rei, a mysterious woman who appears before Satsuki.

The director is Malaysian-born Edmund Yeo, who has long been a fan of the original work. This film brings together a fresh and talented cast and staff who will lead Asia in the future. The story follows the protagonist, who suddenly loses a loved one one day, who discovers a mysterious "moonlight phenomenon" that may allow him to meet the dead again. How does he overcome his grief and move forward into the future? It is a love story of "goodbyes" and "beginnings."

They eat, play games, and talk about the "moonlight phenomenon" that Yumiko has been curious about: "If the moonlight phenomenon actually occurred, who would you most want to meet?" As the days go by, peaceful and happy, ordinary days pass, and then without warning, their separation comes. Hitoshi and Yumiko are dead. Satsuki and Hiiragi are overcome with deep grief. One day, the two meet a mysterious woman named Rei (Usuda Asami), and little by little, they begin to return to their everyday lives of "living." Then, we are led to the ``moonshadow phenomenon'' that we all talked about before.
