The film, which tells the story of a wife who returns from the afterlife and wishes to start over with her husband, is based on Noël Coward's play The Merry Ghost. Noël Coward was a British genius entertainer who was active from the 1920s to the 1940s and had many talents, including actor, author, playwright, screenwriter, director, composer, singer, and film director. This highly popular classic play, which was performed 2,000 times when it was first released in 1941 and was later adapted into a film by Academy Award-winning director David Lean, has been revived 80 years later in a time when smiles and warm kindness are more necessary than ever.

The film is directed by Edward Hall, director of the hit British TV series "Downton Abbey," which has won a total of 15 Emmy Awards for six consecutive years. Dan Stevens, who made his big break playing Matthew Crawley in the series, plays Charles, who is indecisive and a joker, but somehow lovable. Isla Fisher, who appeared in "Shopaholic" and "The Great Gatsby," plays Ruth, a cheerful and ideal wife who is burning with ambition to make it in Hollywood. Leslie Mann of "The Bling Ring" stars as Elvira, the quick-witted, humorous, and sharp-tongued first wife who is pure at heart. Furthermore, Oscar-winning actress Judi Dench, known for her unforgettable role as Leeds M in the James Bond film "007," plays Madame Arcati, a medium full of shady characters who cherishes her cherished wish to summon her late husband.

To get out of a slump, Charles, a best-selling author, enlists the help of psychic medium Madame Arcati to bring back his first wife, Elvira, who died in an accident. In fact, all of his novels were simply written down ideas Elvira had conceived while she was alive. Charles realized that his first screenplay, which held the key to his break into Hollywood, would not have been possible without her help, so he revived her. Elvira is happy to be reunited with her husband, but is shocked to learn that she is a ghost and that Charles has a new wife, Ruth. However, as she collaborates with Charles at his request, the happy days come back to her. Eventually, Elvira wishes the script would never be completed, but the time she can stay in this world is fast approaching.
