FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO was born in a building designed by Kengo Kuma in the heart of the Gaienmae area, also known as Tokyo's interior district. Combining postmodern architecture by Kengo Kuma, known for its renowned architecture in the Omotesando/Gaienmae area, with Fritz Hansen, the long-established Danish furniture brand that will soon celebrate its 150th anniversary, the space is a power spot filled with bright sunlight and plenty of interior design inspiration.

Founded in 1872, Fritz Hansen is a Danish furniture brand that has shaped the history of furniture around the world. This spring, Fritz Hansen Japan, which also serves as Fritz Hansen's Asian headquarters, opened FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO, integrating the three functions of its offices, contract showroom, and Fritz Hansen Aoyama Flagship Store, its only directly managed store in Asia.

The Gaienmae area is home to many interior brands and shops and is sometimes referred to as Tokyo's interior district. Fritz Hansen's new base, FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO, occupies the first and second floors of a building designed by Kengo Kuma, just a three-minute walk from Gaienmae Station.

Fritz Hansen continues to evolve, inheriting the many timeless masterpieces designed by masters such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjærholm more than 60 years ago that are still loved all over the world, while also making it its mission to create new masterpieces that can be passed down for the next 50 or 60 years.

As a direct store of the brand that will soon celebrate its 150th anniversary, FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO aims to be a space that stimulates new values and sensibilities by conveying our heritage and undertaking new initiatives such as collaborating with other industries and hosting events.

Interior that makes it easy to imagine a lifestyle
Danish furniture is said to be a good match with Japanese architecture and culture. FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO incorporates techniques to help visualize the living space by using curtains and flooring available in Japan. The curtains are from Kawashima Selkon's FELTA series (FT6621). These soft and elegant sheer curtains have low transparency, allowing plenty of light in while obscuring views from outside. They also feature UV protection, reducing damage to furniture. The kitchen was custom-made for FRITZ HANSEN TOKYO by TIMBER YARD, a company that offers not only performance and quality but also warm homes and lifestyles. The kitchen blends naturally into the space, highlighting the furniture and enhancing daily life. Maruhon oak flooring is used on the first floor, with French herringbone on the second floor, creating a distinct impression. In addition, the store is packed with Arne Jacobsen faucets, doorknobs, and other carefully crafted details, creating a space where you can fully enjoy the interior.
