RIMOWA is releasing a leather suitcase, a design originally available in the brand's early days.

Since its founding in 1898, RIMOWA has consistently delivered functional and stylish items, accurately capturing the evolving needs of its customers as mobility and travel tools have evolved. The new collection, "Distinct," features suitcases crafted from leather. While RIMOWA offered leather suitcases in the brand's early days, before introducing aluminum, the Distinct is the only leather suitcase in the current collection.

For this collection, RIMOWA has developed a new production process. Crafted using precise leather-wrapping techniques, these suitcases are sturdy and embody the RIMOWA brand's spirit of constant innovation. Featuring a distinctive groove design that is instantly recognizable as a RIMOWA, the bags are available in two unisex colors: black and navy.

For added security, the corners and logo badge on this suitcase are crafted from aluminium. Silver rivets and metallic zippers contrast beautifully with the matte finish of the body, creating an industrial aesthetic. RIMOWA's thoughtful approach to functionality without sacrificing luxury is evident throughout the Distinct collection.

The lining is black and features the RIMOWA monogram in jacquard. One side features a RIMOWA zippered compartment and a gusseted flap pocket, while the other features an adjustable divider. It also shares the same sophisticated functionality as other RIMOWA suitcases, including a telescoping handle that can be adjusted to your preferred height and the RIMOWA Multi-Wheel System®. The top handle is finished in leather, and the bag comes with a leather luggage tag that matches the color of the suitcase.

To celebrate the launch of the new series, RIMOWA visited the Soulages Museum in Rodès, France, to photograph the collection among Pierre Soulages's famous works. This is the first time that a German brand has shot at this incredible location. The exclusive visuals were shot on location, paying homage to Pierre Soulages's work and the craftsmanship he has honed over the years, with his signature style featuring black colorways and rich textures.
