From fashion to the cultural scene, photographer Kitaoka Toshiaki has a penchant for delicately capturing the fluctuations of human emotions and the instability that can be glimpsed within beauty, primarily through his portraits. His photobook, "Equally, beautiful," will be published on May 16th.

"Equally, beautiful" is a collection of works capturing the flowers and plants that Kitaoka began photographing after discovering a Leica camera.

For this work, the artist used a macro lens camera, which is able to magnify small worlds and capture them clearly, to create a blurred, blurred, and out-of-focus image, then added the rippling water surface and layers of acrylic, creating a unique filter through which to create the piece.




What we see there is the strong, fleeting, and imperfect beauty of nature. The photographs of flowers with blurred outlines allow us to imagine what is visible, what is invisible, and what lies in between.
