This year, I'm starting to dread the dreaded problem that's slowly creeping up on me again. Yes, dry lips. Perhaps because my skin isn't strong, if I leave it alone, my lips peel all the time. Ever since I was a child, I've been obsessed with lip balm, buying and trying out all kinds of lip products.

But a few years ago, during my first trip to Hawaii, I came across a lip balm while browsing the Whole Foods Market supermarket, and ever since, it's been my number one lip balm, constantly moisturizing my lips. It's a lip balm from a brand called "Filthy Farmgirl."
It was quietly displayed at the bottom of a shelf lined with lip balms, but its colorful packaging featuring retro illustrations reminiscent of American advertisements from the 1950s and catchy product names (although some of them are a little dirty...) made it stand out, so I couldn't help but pick it up, and that was the beginning of my encounter.

After some research, I found out that Filthy Farm Girl is a brand originating from the Big Island of Hawaii that offers a wide variety of 100% natural soaps made primarily from coconut oil, as well as other handmade products such as lip balms and body lotions. The packaging is also made from 100% recycled paper, making it gentle on both the skin and the environment, a natural look that is typical of a brand from the naturally rich Big Island of Hawaii. The contrast between the punchy packaging and the fact that it's natural cosmetics really captured my heart.

The product I purchased is called "Strawberry Sweetheart Smoochie Lip Balm," and it's incredibly smooth and rich, and it really prevents dry lips! And, just like the product name suggests, I'm captivated by the sweet strawberry smoothie scent and taste (the flavoring and sweetness are both natural). Of course, this varies from person to person, but it seems to work well with my desert-like lips, and my dryness has improved considerably, even in the winter.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available in stores in Japan, so I asked a friend who was on a trip to Hawaii to buy it for me, and I'm using it carefully. She also bought me the coconut lime scented "Filthy Surfer Smoochie Lip Balm," which has a very striking surf girl vibe, so I'm looking forward to trying it out this winter.

By the way, as an aside, we also recommend Whole Foods Market's original lip balm, which is also natural! It's affordable and perfect as a souvenir to give to others, but it's also a genuine product that's USDA certified.
You can choose from four scents, including peppermint and pomegranate orange, and this one also has a smooth texture and moisturizes your lips. If you're not sure what souvenir to buy, be sure to check it out as one of your options!
