The theater aims to be a mini-theater that will satisfy culture lovers by screening films of all genres and actively screening non-film works such as foreign musicals. The commemorative opening film will be "KUSAMA: INFINITY," an American documentary film following Yayoi Kusama, one of Japan's leading avant-garde artists.
Over her more than 60-year artistic career, Kusama has continued to express her unique artistic style and become one of the world's most renowned artists. Despite overcoming numerous challenges—living in Japan during World War II, a family that didn't understand her passion for art, racism and sexism in the art world, and her own illness—she has achieved brilliant results in a variety of fields, including painting, sculpture, installation, performance art, poetry, and literature, and continues to devote her life entirely to her creative endeavors.
This film explores her little-known past, from her childhood to her move to the United States, her struggles with creative endeavors during her time in New York, and how her works were received both domestically and internationally at the time. It explores the thoughts and processes behind her creations, which have earned her worldwide acclaim.
