The annual one-day flea market "BOOK AND MARKET" will be held on December 8th at BOOK AND SONS, a second-hand bookstore located near Gakugeidaigaku Station in Meguro, Tokyo.


This annual event mainly features stalls by active creators and shop staff in the industry, including stylists, editors, brand PR professionals, and photographers. They will be selling off everything from beloved items and original goods to furniture and imperfect items.

This year's image illustration was created by illustrator Shirao Kanako, who is well-known for her illustrations for Kirin Beverage's "From the Kitchen of the World" train advertisements. The illustrations, which depict motifs that caught the artist's eye when he actually visited the store, retain the texture of being silkscreened and handmade, resulting in a simple yet warm piece.

Exhibitors include Asagaya cafe Zaguri, ASEEDONCLÖUD, Ogino Nagasaka Kawagoe, Hibi no Gohan, irotoiro, iyes, Matsuki Photo Studio, mind soap, nop de nod, tokyobike, Vintage Market, Yoi Fuku Ryutsu Center, Hanamori Yuri, and FOTOM Inc.

BOOK AND SONS will be selling beautiful film-themed sweets from "cineca," which were a huge hit last year, as well as original cookies created by "SWEETCH," an atelier in Hiroo. They will also be offering great value lucky bags, mainly featuring merchandise.
