■ "Somnyama Ngonyama, Hail the Dark Lioness" by Zanele Muholi

This book contains portraits by Zanele Muholi, born in South Africa in 1972. She is a visual activist who also participated in KYOTOGRAPHIE in 2017. Through 100 images, she explores her own image and possibilities as a black woman living in modern society, highlighting contemporary and historical racism.

"I have created this photographic documentary to inspire people to occupy space and find the courage to create without fear of violence -- to educate people about our history, to reimagine it, to demand restitution, and to use artistic tools like the camera as a weapon of struggle. More than 20 curators, poets, and writers have contributed texts to accompany the photographs. This powerful collection is as much a statement of resistance as it is autobiographical and artistic."
