Each bookstore will act as a concierge, recommending "the book you should read right now" to FASHION HEADLINE readers. Every Saturday, we will introduce books selected by Shelf, a Harajuku bookshop specializing in foreign books (3-7-4 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).

■ "Blind Date Exhibition" by Shiga Lieko
This is the official book for the "Shiga Lieko Blind Date" exhibition, held at the Marugame-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art in Kagawa Prefecture from June to September 2017.
Shiga Lieko is a photographer born in Aichi Prefecture in 1980. Since receiving the Kimura Ihei Award in 2008, she has been based in Miyagi Prefecture, where she continues to explore, through photography, the "images" that arise at the intersections between herself and society.
Her first solo exhibition at a Japanese art museum, "Lieko Shiga: Blind Date," begins with her "Blind Date" series, which depicts lovers she met during her stay in Bangkok in 2009, and tells the story of her thoughts and thoughts on topics such as "mourning," "the beginnings of humanity," "big capital," and "death," presented in an installation of photographs and approximately 20 slide projectors. The approach of deliberately flickering the projector's light source, which is always lit, was a metaphor for life, darkness, and light, things that exist in this world in opposition to one another yet simultaneously.
