Following on from last year, the "Giri Exhibition," an exhibition of clay works by actor and artist Katagiri Jin, will be holding an additional national tour this year.


The exhibition showcases a collection of clay works that Katagiri has been creating over the past 19 years by "pile[ing] clay onto something." It has been held at 11 locations across the country since 2016, and is a popular event that has attracted a cumulative total of over 45,000 visitors in just two years.
This year, the third year of the nationwide tour, the tour will visit AEON Malls in Saitama, Mie, Fukushima, Hyogo, and Yamanashi. The first stop will be held at AEON Mall Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture from March 17th to April 1st. At the venue, a variety of household items will be showcased, transformed into difficult-to-use yet surreal shapes by piling up clay. Local artworks related to each location will also be on display.

Also on display at the event was the "Karai Phone 6 Plus," which became a hot topic after appearing in the TBS drama "99.9 -Criminal Lawyer- SEASON I," in which Katagiri herself starred. Following on from the auspicious "Tai Phone 5" iPhone case and its rival, the "Flounder iPhone Case!", this piece was born from the idea, "Hey, if a fish has its face on the right side when it's belly down, is that a flounder? This is a flounder!"

This exhibition allows you to enjoy high-quality works that reveal the artist Katagiri Jin's honest thoughts, including the changes in his mind and the evolution of his concepts in creating his works over the course of 19 years of creating art. Come experience a side of him that is different from the side he shows as an actor.
