"Isle of Dogs," a film reuniting the production team behind "The Grand Budapest Hotel," a global smash hit that received nine Academy Award nominations and four awards, will be released nationwide in May.

Set entirely in Japan, this stop-motion animated film depicts the epic journey and adventure of a boy and his dog as they search for his beloved dog, who has been quarantined on the Isle of Dogs due to an outbreak of "canine flu." The voice cast includes a star-studded cast of Wes Anderson regulars, including Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel, Tilda Swinton, F. Murray Abraham, Bob Balaban, Frances McDormand, and Kunichi Nomura. The film also features a diverse cast of talented new voice actors, including Scarlett Johansson, Greta Gerwig, Bryan Cranston, Liev Schreiber, Koyu Rankin, and Yoko Ono. The Japanese voice cast also includes some of Japan's most unique voice actors, including Yojiro Noda of RADWIMPS, Mari Natsuki, Nijiro Murakami, and Ken Watanabe. The film has also been officially selected as the opening film in the Screening & Competition section of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival, and its release is eagerly awaited not only in Japan but around the world. In addition, a motion poster visual, packed with Anderson's unique attention to detail and sense, featuring the main character and a group of unique and eccentric dogs created by director Anderson, has been released exclusively in Japan and the US. When one dog suddenly sneezes, the mysterious sneeze gradually spreads to the surrounding dogs, almost as if to tell the story of the film's origin, in which dogs are quarantined on the Isle of Dogs due to an epidemic of "canine flu."
