ZINE SONIC, an event selling zines from Japan and abroad, will be held at Brick & Mortar from November 7th to 19th, organized by SNOW SHOVELING, a bookstore and gallery in Komazawa, and BRICK & MORTAR, a lifestyle select shop in Nakameguro.

Previous events have taken the event to New York and Poland, and in 2016 it was held in Tokyo, focusing on "locations", but this year, the fourth time it's been held, it will change its focus to "MAKE ZINE". Snow Shoveling will be selling the freshest zines by zine makers, carefully selected and purchased both from Japan and abroad. Exhibiting artists include Snow Shoveling, Kikuchi Yumiko, Narushige Matsuki, Yamawaka Masaya, Hata Renna, Kawai Shoko, Suzuki Jinko, Tsujimoto Keisuke, Sakai Eri, Maiki Kazuya, Fukunaga Koji, Yamamoto Mana, Kurono Shingo, Hello Sandwich, haru., Ikeda Ayako, Aoki Akinobu, and more.



The highlight of this event is not a SALAD BAR, but a "ZINE BAR." There will be a booth with all the materials you need to make a zine, including paper and collage materials, where you can freely create your own zine on the spot. Even if you're a beginner or have no experience, if you're inspired by the exhibits and feel like giving it a try, you can turn that initial impulse into reality and create something on the spot.

In addition, as a special event, on each weekend during the period, November 11th, 12th, 18th, and 19th, ZINE MAKER will be selling zines, which was a huge hit last year. Other events include the ZINE SONIC tradition of hosting a Gene Tonic Bar by Snow Shoveling owner Shuichi Nakamura from 7 PM on November 11th, and a one-night-only live performance by Brick & Mortar staff from 7 PM on November 18th. Admission to the talk show and live performance is free, and participating artists will be announced at a later date.
