French fragrance house Diptyque will release a new series of hourglass-shaped diffusers in late April.
LE SABLIER, an hourglass-shaped home fragrance diffuser, was born from the idea of "not measuring time, but recreating the essence of time." When the diffuser is inverted, the fragrance permeated through the joints connecting the glass ampoules slowly spreads, filling the space with a soft, captivating scent. The unique bottle shape utilizes the gravity of the hourglass and capillary action to diffuse the scent without the need for fire, allowing you to enjoy the pure fragrance for extended periods of time.
The bottle design for this new series, created by the house's creative partner, Servaire & Co., evokes the spirit of the "Chamber of Curiosities," a museum displaying various rare objects from Europe between the 15th and 18th centuries. The geometric glass silhouette is adorned with an openwork pattern and comes in a golden metal case, creating the atmosphere of a beautiful objet d'art. The openwork design is inspired by the oval, the symbol of the Maison, and the spirals of an incense burner, and is as delicate as noble lace. The scent can be identified by the color of the glass, with green, yellow, orange, and smoky black each containing a different fragrance.
The product is priced at 22,000 yen (refill 5,000 yen), and the scent lasts for approximately three months.
