Through the perspective of the protagonist Aida, who works as an interpreter for the UN forces and worries about her husband and two sons, this film vividly depicts the actions of the three parties involved in the Srebrenica genocide: the victims (Bosniaks), the perpetrators (Serbian armed forces), and the UN forces (Dutch troops). The film reveals the deep anguish of Aida, who sincerely desires to save her family and compatriots while also fulfilling her duties as a UN employee. The film is realistically and sensitively directed to portray her strong will to do everything in her power to protect her husband and sons, despite the dilemma she faces time and again between her private and public lives.

■ Synopsis of "Where Are You Going, Aida?"

On July 11, 1995, at the end of the Bosnian War, the city of Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia fell to invading Serb forces. Seeking refuge, 20,000 civilians flocked to a UN facility on the outskirts of town. Aida, who works as an interpreter for the UN Protection Forces, forcibly invites her husband and two sons into the facility, but the Serbian forces led by General Mladic, who have taken control of the town, unilaterally break the agreement with the UN forces and begin the deportation and horrific execution of refugees. In order to protect the lives of her beloved family and compatriots, Aida runs around inside and outside the facility, doing everything she can to protect them.
