This film depicts the protagonist, Veronica, who was living a smooth life both personally and professionally, suddenly being thrown into the depths of despair. However, there are twists and turns that will take everyone by surprise. It is another story about a woman named Eden who is trapped in extreme circumstances, isolated from the outside world. Forced to do hard labor in the cotton fields of a vast plantation, Eden is a slave deprived of all freedom. Veronica is caught in an unjust trap, and Eden is constantly watched by arrogant white men in military uniforms. Why are they targeted, watched, and captured? What is the true identity that threatens them? You will be shocked by the truth at the end of this paradoxical, labyrinthine visual world.

The lead role is played by Janelle Monáe, who garnered critical acclaim for her roles in "Moonlight" and "Hidden Figures," both of which stunned the US awards. The talented actress and regular Grammy Award-nominated singer plays the dual roles of Veronica and Eden, who attempt to escape from a terrifying paradox. The original screenplay that captivated Monáe was written by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, an up-and-coming directorial duo with unique backgrounds. Having produced public service announcements and documentaries on issues such as racial discrimination, this controversial film tackles the racial and political divisions currently rocking the superpower America, shattering the conventional wisdom of the thriller genre.

Veronica, a PhD-holding sociologist and popular author, has built a happy family with her loving husband and adorable young daughter. One day, she is invited to speak in New Orleans and receives enthusiastic applause for her powerful speech. However, just after enjoying dinner with friends, Veronica's radiant life suddenly falls apart, plunging into a nightmare filled with ultimate contradictions. Meanwhile, Eden, a captive slave on a plantation in the American South, is forced to endure harsh labor. A tragedy leads her and her fellow slaves to plan an escape.
